We are currently looking for a MLRO RC - Funds to support our growing operations in the Compliance department.

The purpose is to act as ‘responsable du contrôle du respect des obligations’ as defined under applicable Luxembourg AML/CTF laws (the “RC”) for some of the clients (funds) of FundRock. The RC is more commonly known as the Money Luandering Reporting Officer (‘MLRO’).

Job Specification

The RC shall be mandated by the governing body of the Fund to:

  • ensure that the Fund complies with its professional obligations in accordance with Luxembourg AML/CTF laws and regulations;
  • remain informed of the investments and distribution strategies of the Fund;
  • act as the contact person towards the competent Luxembourg AML/CTF authorities;
  • report for and on behalf of the Fund to the competent Luxembourg AML/CTF authorities;
  • filing suspicious activity report (SAR) or suspicious transaction report (STR) reports if such case arises to the competent AML/CTF authorities;
  • cooperate with competent authorities regarding enquiries and on-site visits;
  • be available without delay upon request by the Luxembourg AML/CTF competent authorities;
  • consider and approve acceptance/rejection of high-risk investor accounts (e.g. politically exposed person or other categories) requests from the transfer agent of the Fund;
  • analyse and recommend actions following the transfer agent’s analysis of ‘hits’ (i.e. politically exposed person alerts, sanction alerts or also adverse media alerts which could not be cleared by the transfer agent);
  • analyse and recommend actions following the portfolio manager’s analysis of ‘hits’ with respect to the investment assets of the Fund;
  • initial validation of the Fund’s AML/CTF policy and associated documents including but not limited to service level arrangements;
  • issue AML/CTF reports to the managing body of the Fund in line with the periodicity of the meeting of the managing body of the Fund;
  • issue and update the Fund’s AML/CTF risk assessment on an annual basis;
  • attending board meeting of the managing body of the Fund;
  • dealing with audit requests;
  • potentially provide an AML/CTF training to managing body of the Fund.
  • Degree in law, economics or finance
  • 4-5 years of experience in AML/CTF and in Compliance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills in English
  • Strong ability to work discretely. Confidentiality is crucial to the function
  • Must be proactive and self-sufficient
  • Ability to multi tasks and respect deadlines
  • Willing to take responsibility & accountability
  • Excellent organizational and inter-personal skills
  • Management Companies regulatory environment and/or of the Luxembourg fund industry;
  • UCITS and AIFMD Requirements;
  • European and Luxembourg AML/CTF legal and regulatory framework.
