Apex Group Ltd (“Apex”), in partnership with Global Custodian, has launched the “Financial Markets Book of the Year” - an annual award honouring authors worldwide for outstanding thought leadership in finance.
This award recognises individuals who provide insights into complex issues, supporting investors, institutions, and policymakers as they address changes in the field of asset and investment management.
Books submitted for evaluation will be subject to thorough curation, analysis, and review by a distinguished panel of judges, comprising senior leaders and influential figures from the global finance sector. The judging panel, to be revealed in the coming weeks, will select five standout titles to form the official shortlist, announced between August and November 2025.
The winner of the inaugural Financial Markets Book of the Year will be announced in November 2025 at Apex Invest Abu Dhabi, an event that brings together allocators and managers representing significant assets. The winning author will be invited to attend and recognized during this event, which serves as a forum for managers and investors to exchange strategies, promote collaboration, and discuss future trends in capital.
Bhaskar Dasgupta, Chairman of the Apex Board (ME and India), said:
"We are celebrating the pioneering minds driving financial markets forward. We believe the most impactful ideas deserve a global platform and this prize celebrates the authors whose ideas are helping define and direct the future of global finance and asset management."
Jon Watkins, Chief Executive Officer, Global Custodian, said:
“Books have long been a powerful tool to drive progress in financial markets. We are proud to partner with Apex Group on such an important initiative to recognise global authors whose ideas are pushing industry forward and challenging the status quo.”
