Watch on Demand: Looking forward to UK PIFs

14 April 2022

The UK government and the Financial Conduct Authority have endorsed a new type of UK fund structure – an unauthorised contractual scheme known as a Professional Investor Fund (“PIF”), that aims to plug a gap and improve efficiencies for fund managers.

Among its benefits:

  • The potential to lower barriers for SME asset managers to launch new products
  • Increase the number of closed-ended investment vehicles domiciled in the UK
  • Support government work to promote investment in longer-term, less liquid assets

Melville Rodrigues, Head of Real Estate Advisory at Apex Group, and lead designer and advocate for the fund, explains what the key features of the PIF are during a recent webinar presentation.
