Apex Group accelerates superannuation contributions with PayTo®

Orange Sky Over Water

Apex Group Ltd. ("Apex Group"), a global financial services provider with more than $3.5 trillion in assets serviced, has launched the PayTo® connection on its SuperConnector platform, paving the way for Australian employers to move superannuation contributions faster and with greater certainty.

The solution replaces a key delay in Australia’s traditional direct debit super payments, where contributions can take three to four days to clear and be passed on to super funds, creating pressure within the new PayDay Super contribution timeframes.

New PayDay Super requirements require employers to ensure super contributions are received by employees’ super funds within seven business days of payday. By reducing the payment processing window to as little as one day, PayTo® gives employers greater certainty and additional buffer to meet their obligations.

Abgail Sweep, Chief Product Officer, Apex Super says:

“Streamlined payment processes benefit everyone, particularly employers and individuals. By using PayTo® to create pre-authorised account-to-account payment agreements, we can provide immediate payment confirmation rather than waiting days for payments to clear. Ultimately, it’s the kind of transaction experience people expect in 2026.”

Jon Adams, NAB Executive Enterprise Payments, added:

"PayDay Super is reshaping Australia's superannuation ecosystem and responding to the need for faster, more certain contribution payments. By integrating NAB's real-time payments capability with Apex Group's SuperConnector platform, we're helping employers simplify super payments, gain greater certainty, and get contributions to super funds faster. That not only helps employers meet their obligations, but can also deliver meaningful long-term benefits for members.”

PayTo® also removes friction from the payment authorisation process by eliminating manual forms and wet signatures and enabling immediate digital authorisation.

This creates a self-service experience that reduces administration and allows employers to establish their payment arrangements and begin making contributions faster.
