Africa is home to some of the world's most magnificent and diverse wildlife, but unfortunately, many of its species are facing an unprecedented threat to their survival. From elephants to gorillas, Africa's iconic animals are at the risk of extinction. Conservation efforts are underway to protect Africa's endangered species, but more needs to be done. Climate change, increasing population and poaching are some of the major threats to the African wildlife.
Tusk, a UK based charity is making a real difference in the conservation of Africa’s wildlife and habitats. Founded in 1990, with a mission to protect wildlife and empower communities in Africa – Tusk has championed various conservation projects and carries a strong reputation for delivering effective and sustainable conservation initiatives.
The charity supports community-based conservation programs, which aim to promote sustainable livelihoods for local people and reduce human-wildlife conflict.
One of Tusk's areas of focus is elephant conservation. The charity works to protect elephants from poaching and habitat loss, and also supports research and monitoring programs to better understand these magnificent animals. Tusk also works to combat the illegal ivory trade, which is a major threat to the elephant population.
Tusk partners with leading and emerging conservationists to protect endangered species, these partnerships have enabled Tusk to make lasting impact in Africa.
We are incredibly grateful to Tusk for carrying out such significant work and we will be supporting their ambitions through the Apex Foundation. The recent Apex Group Purpose Beyond Service charity gala dinner raised over £650,000 for four charities, including Tusk. We hope to raise even more in the future so we can continue to support their work.
