Case study: Credit Data Lens

Transforming fragmented investment book of record operations into a unified credit middle-office solution

A US-based, publicly listed global asset manager with investment strategies spanning public and private markets.

The client used multiple platforms to maintain their investment book of record ("IBOR") across several credit strategies. This created fragmented data, inconsistent processes, and operational inefficiencies.

Before transitioning to a unified platform, the client also needed to undertake a comprehensive data-cleansing exercise. This involved validating holdings and cash balances and aligning information across systems.

The absence of a scalable operating model and consistent data structure also limited integration and made it more difficult to support future growth.

We deployed a dedicated team to transition portfolio data for 80 funds onto our Credit Data Lens middle-office platform. The platform was integrated with the client’s internal systems to support a consistent flow of data across operations.

We now provide an outsourced middle-office solution encompassing:

  • Real-time transaction management and processing

  • Daily reconciliations

  • Custom data integration and validation

  • IBOR maintenance

  • Net asset value oversight support

  • Data supporting internal reporting

The transition also strengthened collaboration between the client’s operations leadership and our team, creating greater operational alignment and trust.

The client now benefits from a more integrated and scalable operating model, including:

  • Real-time access to consolidated dashboards, with the ability to drill down into individual transactions and attributes

  • Improved data quality and a more consistent source of operational information

  • Significant savings on cash-drag and improved timing on fund deployment

  • Better coordination across operations, finance, treasury, and risk

  • Greater sharing of operational knowledge and established processes

  • Improved operational efficiency and infrastructure capable of supporting future growth
