Apex Group Ltd. (“Apex”), a global financial services provider, today announces that it has been appointed by Thndr, Egypt’s first mobile investment app, to provide strategic compliance advisory and cross-jurisdictional licensing support.

Thndr is an investment platform which offers its users the ability to invest in stocks and mutual funds with no commission or account minimum. In 2020, Thndr received a brokerage license to operate in Egypt – the first issued by Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority since 2008 – and continues to broaden and enhance its product offering with additional investment options and digital solutions.

Apex Group’s Global Compliance Solutions team will provide strategic compliance advisory and cross-jurisdictional licensing to Thndr to support the mobile equities trading platform as it expands its new digital solutions.

Thndr will benefit from Apex’s specialist knowledge of both the global and local, current and emerging regulatory, compliance and cybersecurity considerations, implications and opportunities for digital financial services.

Apex launched its Global Compliance Solutions offering in 2020, and continues to expand, delivering business enablement for clients through regulatory compliance. The Global Compliance Solutions business provides regulatory licensing and compliance and AML solutions across multiple jurisdictions, including strategic consulting, cross-border placement and marketing as well as advising on and seeking relevant regulatory approvals for financial institutions seeking to advise, market, or manage investments.

Hari Bhambra at Global Head of Compliance Solutions at Apex Group comments: “This appointment demonstrates Apex’s ability to provide strategic and adaptable cross-jurisdictional support to fast-growing businesses, who are operating at the leading edge of the financial services ecosystem in the growing area of financial technology. Our team’s understanding of the regulatory nuances and integration of traditional risks into digital frameworks supports the current and future direction of financial services businesses. By adapting our compliance solutions to new business models, we ensure that we continue to enable businesses with the highest level of regulatory compliance”

Seif Amr, Co-Founder at Thndr adds: “At Thndr we are looking to remove all barriers and friction that users face throughout their investment journey and Apex shares this philosophy when it comes to financial services regulation. We have been impressed by their refreshing approach to compliance – seeing it not as a barrier to our growth, but as an enabler and opportunity for our business. We look forward to continuing this strategic partnership with Apex and benefiting from their scalable solutions as we continue on our exciting growth trajectory.”
